Andy Andrews was a minimum-wage security guard at a local
pharmaceutical company when we encounters a group of operatives from
the international crime syndicate CALAMITY trying to steal company
secrets, being chased by what Andy thought was a cop. After a goofball
scuffle which resulted in the scarring of one of its operatives, the
cop, who turns out to be Matthew McCormick, section chief of the newly
formed independent law enforcement organization Global Investigations
Agency, was impressed with Andrews’ bravery, or so he
thought, that he offered him a job as his agency. Now under a codename
“Detective Action”, Andy is the top-ranked
detective in the agency, not to mention the clumsiest and the most
accident-prone. Andy is a klutzy goof-off, but he also has gifted
detective skills and determination. A fan of many cop shows and movies,
Andy uses his experience watching those shows as well as studying law
enforcement techniques and procedures, via surfing through Wikipedia,
to work when solving crimes; he even, when the situation calls for it,
“zone” out to impersonate his shows’
characters, like Joe Friday, Jack Bauer, and Inspector
“Dirty” Harry Callahan, with goofy results. But
underneath his goofball exterior laid his serious side, especially when
being overprotective of his sister Ally (whom both were orphans after
their parents died in a plane crash). Andy is determined to use his
skills and a good amount of good luck to tackle the case. His favorite
hobbies are, as mentioned above, watching police dramas on TV and
surfing the Web. His favorite food is roasted Turkey. Despite his
overall klutziness, Andy is a gifted detective and studies forensics
and ballistics. He is an expert in international politics and
diplomacy. He practices “mock” torture techniques
to get out information from suspects during interrogations, with bad
results. Although he has a white belt in kung fu and judo, he rarely
wins a fight, leaving up to his partner, Debby Danger, to clean up the
mess, sort of speaking. He carries a custom-made .45 caliber
semiautomatic. He is gifted in advance driving, although he sometimes
takes the occasional “wrong turn”, and is a
qualified helicopter and small aircraft pilot. He occasional drives
either in a GIA-issue SVU, or a Dodge Caliber.
