Black Shadow

· Black Shadow/Jonathon Reed – Jonathon William Reed is a billionaire industrialist and NYPD hostage negotiator who moonlights as the dark vigilante Black Shadow. When he was a young man, his billionaire philanthropist parents were brutally murdered by an unknown mob hit team. At and before that time, he was very irresponsible: Reed was a young security guard for his parents' mansion where he always forgets his duties and cared about partying and drinking and was at a friend's house when he should have been on duty. His parents' killers were brought to justice, but Reed felt the pain of not being there watching his parents and could have prevented the assassinations. Seeking redemption, he dedicated his life to serving and protecting the people of New York City. Trained as a ninja in Japan and manhunting techniques in India, along with other disciplines in Australia and England, he became the dark crusader to avenge his parents' murder and the realize the importance of true responsibility. But to provide cover for his secret identity, Reed joined the NYPD and later became their top hostage negotiator. When he is not called for a hostage crises, he patrols the streets of Manhattan as the Black Shadow, disposing justice to those who threatened it. His weapons including several gadgets and equipment in his utility belt, including flashbang mini-grenades, explosive shurikens (ninja throwing stars), two extending metal hand batons, and a specially-modified handgun that shoots a variety of non-lethal ammunition with an over and under EMP emitter or high-powered laser beam. But his preferred weapon from his extensive arsenal was his fedora; its' brim is laminated with hard, durable aerodynamic metal and plastic alloys to make it a boomerang-type thrown weapon. Shadow can deploy and target his fedora to stun and/or disarm various adversaries and return to its' owner (similar to Wonder Woman's tiara and Oddjob's (from the 1964 Bond thriller "Goldfinger") hat in concept). Shadow has spare fedoras just in case of loss. His cowl is equipped with a night vision goggles that made him appear to have "eyes of the devil". He is an expert in several forms of martial arts and is a gifted detective and expert in hostage negotiating. As a negotiator, he uses his wealth for ransom money and carries a 9mm Smith and Wesson semi-automatic, although he only shoots at parts to decapitate, not kill, or disarm the hostage takers as a last means.

· Blue Mirage – Jason McNeil is an NYPD robbery homicide detective who moonlights with Black Shadow as Blue Mirage. Jason is an black belt in karate, kung fu and judo and is highly skilled in non-bladed martist arts implements. He is a seasoned and highly trained gynmast. His younger sister is also one of Black Shadow's team. Jason is loyal, but a little hard-edged and reckless, and has a different prospective than Black Shadow's when it comes to fighting crime. Like Black Shadow, Blue Mirage is equipped with kevlar body armor, a specialized night vision googles and ultility belt. His favorite hobbies are motorcycle racing and karate practice. His favorite is is chili dogs. In his civilian guise, Jason carries a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber semiautomatic handgun and a retracting concealable baton

· Pink Illusion – Stephanie McNeil is a orphan who ran away from a New York City orphanage and later strive to survive the crime and poverty-infested streets of Hell's Kitchen, hacking into ATM machines with a stolen laptop and stealing food from unsuspecting tourists. One fateful night, she encounters Black Shadow after being hold up by two street punks, who turned out to be members of a Mafia kingpin who is responsible for her parents' murder. She is later discovered by her long-lost twin brother, Jason, an NYPD detective who later joined Black Shadow's team as the Blue Mirage. Stephanie later became one of Black Shadow's partners along with her brother in order to track down the kingpin. Since then, she dons the mantle and costume of the Pink Illusion, one of Black Shadow's loyal soldiers in the war on crime. Stephanie is a very talented in many skills, including hand-to-hand combat, hot-wiring vehicles and computer hacking. She is a gifted gynmast and acrobat, and is an expert in non-bladed matial arts weapons including nunchuks and long staffs. She is also a natural in throwing boomerangs, which are still her personal weapons of choice. Her hobbies and reading Hardy Boys novels and hiking. Her favorite food is baked fish with lemon sauce. Pink Illusion's armor is a prototype stealth suit with adoptive camoflauge with can blend in with any enviroment. Her utility belt holsters holds standard equipment as well as two foldable boomerangs and storage compartments containing up to eight shiruken stars either standard or explosive depending on mission.

· Jimmy Nevada – Jimmy Nevada is the head of New York’s biggest crime syndicates. He, like the movie gangsters he idolizes, was a refugee fleeing from his home country of San Carlos (a Central American nation engulfed in a civil war) and built a drug running empire from out of nothing. His goal is to seize control of the entire East Coast criminal underworld by any means necessary, even if it means doing it by brute force. Nevada has corrupted half of the NYPD to secure his vast citywide operations, and he has the best defense lawyers money can buy to bail him out of prison. The only person to stand in his way is Black Shadow, who Nevada has a personal vendetta on him (Shadow was responsible for the various scars Nevada received. Nevada has a brutal, violent temper, and he has an uncountable cocaine-abusing habit, which results in snapping into a delusional violent rage when provoked. He is a veteran with the gang wars pitting him and his syndicate against the Italian-American Mafia, the Chinese Triad and the Japanese Yakuza. Nevada has unlimited funding and connections with corrupt officials of the U.S. Military, who supplies his syndicate with weapons, technology and counter-intelligence, and with Latin America, especially having alliances and ties to the Columbian cocaine cartels who supplies him with the merchandise. Nevada’s base of operations is embedded in his 35-story penthouse skyscraper overlooking the Manhattan East Side. His headquarters is one of the most heavily guarded fortresses in New York, with armed bodyguard and state-of-the-art security systems. Nevada is a firearms expert. His preferred weapon is a full-auto M16A3 assault rifle with grenade launcher. In other times, he carries a Beretta 92F pistol with a backup Beretta .380 in his ankle holster. He is a dangerous opponent in combat, with a unstable attitude to match. Nevada has grudges against Black Shadow, The Cleaner, Johnny Rush, private eye Quentin Gunn, and FBI agent Matthew Mann.

· Hand-Gun – Colt Wesson Smith was one of New York’s notorious hitmen who specializes in terror tactics and extortion towards rival crime syndicates. At a chemical plant in eastern New Jersey, which is owned by a front company for a local hated rival syndicate, the mob sent Smith and his henchmen to steal documents and to blow up the facility. Black Shadow prevented the catastrophe, and tangled with Smith and his crew. Facing Shadow, Smith aimed his gun at the dark avenger, but Shadow disarmed him with his shuriken, accidentally struck a nearby liquid nitrogen container above the mobster and the liquid freeze agent pours over Smith’s right arm. In panic, Smith broke his frozen right arm, losing it in the process. Weeks later, he kidnapped a renowned military expert on cybernetics and nanotechnology, forcing him to give Smith a self-repairing, self-regenerating cybernetic right arm and accompanying nanomachines. Now armed with a hi-tech appendage which can transform into any type of firing projectile weapon by mere thought, with assistance of the nanomachines the scientist injected into him, Smith vows revenge against Shadow and his team and makes a name for himself in the criminal underworld under a new alias, Hand-Gun. Hand-Gun is a dangerous individual who plans crimes and assassinations with the brilliance of a military field general. He also plans a short temper and is prone to violence. His favorite hobby is collecting antique firearms. His favorite food is meatball pasta. Hand-Gun’s cybernetic right arm has the ability to transform into any weapon by nanomachine-assisted thought. It can either be a handgun, a submachine gun, a rocket launcher, a shotgun, a flamethrower, or even a six-barreled gatling gun when used for extreme emergencies. But whatever the type of weapon form it can transform into, it cannot operate without separate ammunition, that is why Hand-Gun bring with him several spare magazine clips and fuel canisters for his appendage. When his right hand, whether is in normal or weapon mode, is cut off by some sharp bladed weapon or malfunctions, his arm, thanks to nanomachines, can regenerate to create a new hand.

· Whirlwind Willy – Professor William Wirbelsturm was an engineer and inventor at a military weapons research and development facility outside Albany N.Y. When his company went bankrupt he was cut off. Desperate to find work, Wirbelstrum applied for a job at the local chemical factory in lower Manhattan. Later, unbeknownst to him, a battle involving Black Shadow and Jimmy Nevada’s men ensued near Wirbelstrum’s office. The stray bullets from the mobsters and Shadow’s shurikens pierced several nearby chemical tanks, spilling leaky fumes to the air. When Wirbelstrum tries to take cover during the fight, the ensuing fumes ignite in the crossfire causing an explosion destroying his office in half, but miraculously leaving him barely conscious yet scarred. Blaming Black Shadow for his brain poisoned by the chemicals, and the events happened, Wirbelstrum decided to use his talents and inventive skills for revenge as the anarchist codenamed Whirlwind Willy. Whirlwind Willy is armed with hi-tech weapons and equipment, all based upon wind and aerodynamic technology, including a airfoil backpack that can produce lethal hi-speed cyclones and provides him with agile flight, as well as a “Tornado Gun” which projects high-velocity small maelstroms towards its’ suspected targets. Willy wears a special suit which can resists the gale-force winds his weapons produces. He is a resourceful weapons developer and inventor who supply weapons and gadgets to crime syndicates and terrorists. He is also brilliant tactician and strategist.

His preferred weapons includes a custom gavel for melee combat that can project high-voltage electric shocks, two .45 caliber silenced handguns, a 4.7mm machine pistol and a bandolier vest of throwing knives, shurikens, modern baseball and WWII-era German stick grenades, laser proximity mines and miniature C4 sticks and detonators. He is also a master chemist: he can create homemade gas bombs and explosives for defensive and offensive purposes.
